User accounts and privacy settings

This article will outline Admin Settings such as User Accounts and Privacy settings available in Bevy.

User Accounts

As an admin, the User Account settings will give you different options to manipulate user’s account and profile settings.

  1. Navigate to Settings from the left sidebar of the Admin Dashboard
  2. From there, click into General
  3. Scroll to the User Accounts tab where you will find:
    1. Disable Signup: When checked, users will not be able to signup for an account except when registering for an event.
    2. Enable profile pages for all users: When enabled, every user will have a public profile page unless they set their profile to private.
    3. Enable profile pages for team members: When enabled, any user that is a chapter/group team member will have a public user profile page unless they set their profile to private.
    4. Enable profile pages for attendees: When enabled, any user that is or was registered for at least one event will have a public user profile page unless they set their profile to private.
    5. Enable profile pages for featured attendees: When enabled, any user that requested to be a featured attendee (approved or not) will have a public user profile page unless they set their profile to private.
    6. Enable profile pages for writers: When enabled, any user that is part of the blog writers group, will have a public profile unless they set their profile to private.
  4. For any changes made, remember to scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save

Privacy

In the Privacy settings you can find all cookie settings, options to input your organization’s privacy policy and terms and conditions. 

  1. Navigate to Settings from the left sidebar of the Admin Dashboard
  2. From there, click into General
  3. Scroll to the Privacy tab. In this tab you will find:
    1. Cookie Acknowledgement text: Here you can enter the verbiage you would like to display on your cookie consent bar on the home page. https://share.getcloudapp.com/QwuGkGK2
    2. Enable the Bevy cookie consent acknowledgement banner: Checking this box will enable the banner. 
    3. Cookie Acknowledgement button: You can enter in this tab what you would like your button to read. i.e: “OK” 
    4. Cookie Acknowledgement learn more url: Here you can enter the link to learn more about your cookie policy. 
    5. Privacy Policy link text: Here you can enter the text you would like to display on your Privacy Policy link. 
    6. Privacy Policy link: Here you can enter the link to your Privacy policy.
    7. Terms and Conditions link: Here you can enter the link to your organization’s Terms and Conditions. 
    8. Terms and Conditions link text: Here you can enter the text you would like to display on your Terms and Conditions link. 
    9. Show global community updates checkbox in account creation: If this box is checked new users will have the opportunity to opt-in to global community updates. 
  4. For any changes made, remember to scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save
